Bleach → damages seals.
Harsh chemicals → damage mechanisms.
Metal brushes → scratch plastic.
Continuous use of blue tablets → accelerate wear.
How often should I clean it?
Every 2 to 3 months.
More often if:
- very hard water
- quick brown traces
- Bad smells
Bonus tips Add a small glass of white vinegar to the tank once a month.
Install a limescale inhibitor if your water is hard.
Also clean the float valve.
